The harmful impact of the tobacco industry on the environment is vast and growing adding unnecessary pressure to our planet’s already scarce resources and fragile ecosystems.
Tobacco kills over 8 million people every year and destroys our environment, further harming human health, through the cultivation, production, distribution, consumption and post consumer waste.
Every cigarette smoked or tobacco product used wastes precious resources that our existence depends on. Quit tobacco for your health and the health of our planet.
We’re proud to have been advised by WentWest that our Barwell Ave practice will offer Urgent Care Services to the Western Sydney Community.
The objective of this new initiative is to reduce the number of patients, requiring treatment for non-life-threatening conditions, presenting to Western Sydney Emergency Departments by providing access to sustainable local patient-centred urgent care services.
Urgent Care Service (UCS) centres will provide an alternative treatment option for patients who have a minor but urgent illness or injury.
Want to avoid emergency room wait times, and access direct imaging, specialist referrals, nursing care, pain relief, and medical treatment by an expert team? CHMC Barwell Ave already provides Sports & Injury Services – when you and your child need it most.

Don’t forget your flu shot
Yearly influenza vaccination is recommended for people aged 6 months and over. Immunising against the influenza virus saves lives and helps lower the risk of diagnostic uncertainty between the flu and COVID-19.
Anyone who wants to protect themselves against influenza can talk to their immunization provider about getting vaccinated. For more information about the influenza vaccine, click here.
Onsite Flu Vaccinations at your Workplace
Our qualified nurse immuniser can attend your workplace to administer flu vaccinations to your staff. The best time for vaccination is generally around April/May before winter sets in as flu is more likely to occur between the months of June to October.
The cost of each 2022 influenza vaccine is $18.00 per unit. Our fees cover the cost of administration time for the nurse immuniser to upload the vaccination details to AIR (Australian Immunisation Register).
Free vaccinations are available for employees over 65 years old. Their immunisation information will also be uploaded to AIRS at no additional charge.
For more information and/or to book an onsite visit, please contact CHMC The Mall at (02) 8865 0633 or email [email protected]

Simple ways to start living a healthier lifestyle
Creating a healthier lifestyle does not involve completely changing all your habits. You can make small, simple changes that will have big lasting impacts on your health.
Eating a diet rich in a variety of fruits and vegetables is important for your overall health and drinking plenty of water is an important part of staying healthy.
Also, being active does not have to mean running a marathon. Regular short walks or taking the stairs instead of the lift can have huge impacts on your overall health. Setting small, specific goals for getting active is the quickest way to change your habits long term. Learn more.
Need professional help to get started?
CHMC also offers Healthy Eating & Lifestyle program that offer patients a structured lifestyle program to promote optimal health and wellbeing, and reducing risk factors associated with being overweight.
